The World Resources Institute (WRI) seeks an intern with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to assist the Sustainability Manager in measuring and reporting the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from WRI’s business operations, and in testing emission reduction strategies.

- Bachelors degree in environmental policy, engineering, public administration, public policy, economics, business, or related field, Master’s degree or working towards a Master’s degree a plus
- Knowledge of GHG accounting, with experience developing corporate GHG inventories based on the GHG Protocol, Scope 3 GHG accounting, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) a plus
- Experience with MS-Excel and strong quantitative skills
- Strong problem solving ability
- Excellent research, analytical, writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Motivated and proactive
Location:
Position based in Washington, DC (Conveniently located 1/2 block from Union Station Metro Stop)
Duration:
The internship is full time (37.5 hours/week) for 3 to 4 months, with the possibility of extension depending on performance, project needs, and funding. The start date is flexible, with an earlier date being preferred.
Compensation:
$12 - $15 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. No benefits.
