Our client has a need for two consultants both of which must be BREEAM Licensed Assessors and have an excellent understanding of sustainability issues related to the construction sector. For the Hertfordshire role facilitation skills are also desired as part of the role as this consultant will be preparing and delivering sustainability workshops. The company provides advice to public and private clients, developers, design
teams and planners on the inclusion of practical sustainability initiatives into project and strategy delivery. Ideally the candidates will have good presentation skills, be self motivated, proactive and have a flexible attitude. It is essential that you have a willingness to participate in developing the business.
Ideal candidates for this role will have the following:-
Essential Skills/Attributes:
- Relevant degree in Environmental Science or similar;
- Relevant professional qualifications e.g. trained & licensed BREEAM assessor, IEMA;
- A full driving licence.
Desirable Skills/Attributes:
- Previous experience in the sustainability field, preferably gained within a consultancy environment;
- Proven track record in delivering sustainability appraisals/BREEAM assessments;
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001;
- Understanding of sustainability issues in the construction sector;
- Up-to-date and in depth knowledge of UK planning policy and environmental legislation, at corporate and project level;
- Knowledge of drivers and legislative framework surrounding sustainability.
Duties of the role include:
BREEAM (Licensed Assessor);
Reviewing the environmental impact of projects to limit risk and improve environmental performance;
Developing and delivering sustainability measures;
Undertaking sustainability appraisals;
Working with developers and corporate clients;
Project management;
Business development;
Developing and delivering training;
Delivering Sustainability Workshops.
