The Upstream Sustainability Services team assists major commercial and residential property companies, institutional investors and occupiers to develop and implement effective sustainability and corporate responsibility strategies. The team work with their clients to create visions, policy, objectives, targets, benchmarks and to review progress, communicate with variety of internal and external stakeholders, and work towards best practice and innovation in the practical implementation of their strategies.
The team seeks a consultant who will assist clients with auditing and compliance services, focusing on sustainability/ carbon reporting assurance and verification; environmental management systems; the Carbon Reduction Commitment and external reviews of company performance. We are looking for a candidate with both the skills and the enthusiasm to make this happen.
Requirements
- Strong academic qualifications including a degree and/or post-graduate qualification
- Sound understanding and proven experience in one or more of the following:
- Environmental management systems auditing to standards such as ISO 14001
- Carbon Reduction Commitment auditing
- Sustainability/carbon reporting assurance and verification
- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills, with an ability to write in a variety of different styles and from different perspectives
- Attention to detail and accuracy, ideally in written, visual and numeric work
- Ability to quickly assimilate varied and often technical detail, identifying and conveying the resulting key themes in coherent, robust, accessible messages
- Good organisational skills, with practical experience of project planning, management and delivery of reporting projects
- Consultancy or in-house experience, ideally working with large private sector organisations
- Some experience in, or an ability to get up to speed with relevant sustainability and carbon reporting & assurance standards such as: GRI G3, AA1000, UNPRI, ISO 14064 and/or ISAE 3000
Responsibilities
- Deliver auditing services across a range of different disciplines, including: environmental management systems; the Carbon Reduction Commitment; sustainability/carbon reporting assurance and verification and external reviews of company performance.
- Take increasing responsibility for our services in the field of sustainability auditing and reporting verification
- Foster client relationships and deliver consultancy support to clients on a wide range of auditing related sustainability topics (delivered via presentations, written reports and in face to face meetings)
- Ensure familiarity with the breadth of Jones Lang LaSalle’s own Intellectual Property and sustainability services, and be prepared to adapt and improve this IP to deliver fresh, creative solutions for clients
- Work under minimal supervision and take responsibility for the delivery of work to key clients
- Plan and manage projects to ensure deadlines are realistic and met on time
- Provide support to junior staff to enable the development of their consultancy and professional skills
- You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require
