Advise public sector and commercial clients, and colleagues, on sustainability and low-carbon performance in the design and implementation of development and refurbishment projects, including in relation to BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes and other relevant assessment frameworks.
Advise public and private sector development clients on the impacts of the sustainable development agenda on their business strategies, decision-making frameworks and project control procedures as they relate to the development of new buildings and the refurbishment of existing buildings.
Advise on opportunities for improving the environmental performance of property portfolios, including quantified impacts on carbon emissions and other KPIs, as well as capital and operational cost implications.
Proactively identify knowledge gaps; monitor and disseminate changes to relevant policies, regulations and market trends including through the preparation of briefing notes for colleagues and clients.
Advise project teams on the impact of sustainability requirements on individual development proposals, including in relation to cost and viability.
Co-ordinate project team inputs (internally and externally) to Sustainability Statements in support of planning applications.
Identify opportunities and respond to challenges for incorporating sustainability measures and initiatives into building and development proposals to enhance market positioning.
Input to the preparation of Design Briefs for development sites.
Assimilate and maintain a database of relevant sustainable development case studies.
Deliver presentations to colleagues and clients on relevant sustainability issues.
Contribute to wider business development activities to further the profile of the Drivers Jonas Deloitte brand
Support the Head of Sustainability in securing fee-earning instructions from clients
Support the Head of Sustainability in relevant business administration tasks, including fee forecasting, billing, and compliance monitoring.
Other tasks relevant to the position as directed by Line Manager or Controlling Partner.
Requirements:
Essential:
Good degree - cognate for building, planning or development
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. MRICS, CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant)
Accredited and Licensed BREEAM Assessor (building types flexible)
Ideally post-graduate experience in a relevant professional discipline
Articulate - strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently deliver presentations to client teams.
Analytical - ability to assemble and analyse complex information in thorough and efficient manner.
Interpersonal - ability to work as part of a team and to develop strong relationships with clients, colleagues across the business and stakeholders.
Project management - ability to manage and prioritise a number of tasks and projects.
