Our Client aims to be a leader in Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Diversity. The Sustainability & Supplier Diversity Manager will represent the Global Procurement department working with senior stakeholders to influence the corporate wide policy and strategy on Sustainability and Supplier Diversity. The role will be responsible for developing and agreeing the strategic plan with senior stakeholders and implementing within Global Procurement, the wider business, and the Supply Chain. This role will involve embedding sustainability and diversity strategies into Procurement processes and systems, and defining expected standards for Corporate Responsibility as part of our supply chain governance, whilst ensuring compliance with the Utilities Contract Regulations.

The successful applicant will lead on sustainability and diversity supplier engagement events, actively seek and publicise positive external recognition and awards, and mentor and coach Procurement category teams to embed sustainability and supplier diversity into their category strategies.

About you
This is a true leadership role that requires an outstanding individual who possesses excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence and gravitas to exert influence at the most senior levels, both internal and external to our client.  The individual will have exemplary presentation and communication skills with the ability to educate, motivate and inspire others.
Suitable applicants will be educated to degree level, be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, and have an in-depth knowledge of corporate sustainability and diversity drivers at the strategic level.

Other key skills include:
• An understanding of the global context of business impact on climate, resources, water and ‘waste’ coupled with a broad knowledge of environmental sustainability is essential.
• An understanding of supply chain risks with first-hand experience of Low Cost Country sourcing issues
• Exemplary stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to build effective partnerships with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies
• First class planning and strategic management skills
• Delivery focussed with the ability to demonstrate insight and management of results by the measurement and reporting of KPI’s and metrics
• Ability to lead cross functional / multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects and / or initiatives that deliver tangible business benefits
