Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) is the independent charity which campaigns, acts and educates on a range of local, national and global environmental issues which affect people’s quality of life. It is committed to making Scotland clean, green and more sustainable. KSB enables action on sustainable development, by helping organisations and communities reduce their carbon emissions and environmental impact so that Scotland plays its part in tackling climate change. The Sustainable Scotland Network is one element of this work.

The Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) is a highly respected sustainable development initiative, working with, and providing support to, professionals in the public sector.  SSN’s current work is focused on climate change, providing a wide range of communications, training, resources and events for public sector professionals. SSN is supported by the Scottish Government.

Reporting to the SSN Coordinator, the Sustainability & Climate Change Officer (Communications & Knowledge Exchange) will play a key role in developing and delivering SSN’s knowledge exchange and communications services.  This will involve developing SSN’s online presence and producing newsletters, reports, case studies and other resources for professionals such as e-learning modules.

Applications are sought from candidates who feel that they have the necessary experience and qualifications to undertake this role.  The ideal candidate will have experience of providing communications, knowledge exchange and networking services. Evidence of having researched and produced communications resources in relation to sustainable development and climate change is essential.  Knowledge and understanding of public sector organisations, or other large complex organisations, is also essential. An ability to develop and coordinate the use of online services such as websites and social media is also required.
