Southern Solar Ltd. provides a high quality, professional service with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Our main work is the installation of solar electric systems for domestic, public sector and commercial clients.  We presently have a vacancy for a Solar Installer – Roofer with PV installation experience to join our team in E. Sussex, (we are just outside of Lewes).  

Core Job Responsibilities

•    Install solar electric and solar hot water systems with an experienced team.  Fix kit to roof and ground mount frames.  Fix final electrical cable and pipe runs from roof arrays.  
•    Ensure the integrity of the customer’s roof and property throughout the installation process.
•    Ensure that the installation vans are well organized and maintained.
•    Assist with the maintenance of existing solar systems (under direction).
•    Liaise with clients during project delivery.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
•    Practical experience of roof PV array installation, roofing, and general building works. 
•    Training including Working at Heights, Manual Handling, and CSCS card
•    Good communication skills, proven ability to work in a team
•    Problem solving skills
•    Ability to manage your own time effectively, (The installation team starts at 7am)

Desirable:
•    NVQ level 2 qualification – Roofing
•    Knowledge of solar electric and solar thermal systems
•    Some plumbing and electrical skills, good experience with all roof types

Other
Essential

•    Able to work a range of hours with occasional overnight stays
•    Legal right to work in the UK
•    Fully fit and able to work at height
•    Full clean driving licence, own vehicle
•    Enthusiasm for renewable energies

Benefits and Remuneration

•    A salary of £18,000-£22,000 for a 45 hour week, depending on experience
