Southern Solar Ltd is an established and expanding solar energy installation company. We design and install solar thermal and solar electric systems for domestic, public sector and commercial clients.
We provide a high quality professional service with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to manage our Sussex branch. This positive and motivated manager will have a good practical understanding of construction, sales, and renewable technologies enabling them to assist in the organization, coordination, and development of the sales and installation teams.
Job Description:
• Provide leadership to the team in Sussex
• Responsibility for branch financial control and meeting financial targets
• Assist with the management of branch HR function
• Manage sales team, plus develop and maintain relationships with key clients
• Overseeing job scheduling
• Ensuring all staff are managed and motivated to meet the company mission statement
• Ensuring compliance with Quality Management systems
• Ensure branch complies with all legal responsibilities, in the office and at installation sites under direction of H&S Manager
• Liaising with the managing director and ensure the branch is in line with companywide policy
• Assist in the development of Southern Solar across all branches
• Maintaining a business culture that is in line with Southern Solar’s ethos.
EXPERIENCE
Essential
• At least 2 years experience of management in a construction, installation or service related business.
• Strong team building and leadership, and people management skills
• A proven track record in sales to both domestic and public sector customers.
• Proven ability to manage a budget
Desirable
• Practical experience of general plumbing, electrical and building works (3-5 years on site experience).
• Knowledge of solar thermal and electric systems
• Ability to install solar electric and hot water systems
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
• Excellent IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent social and communication skills
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
• Ability to manage your own time effectively
Desirable
• Management and leadership training
• Degree level qualification 2.2 or above
• Financial Control Training
• Sales Training
• Ability to install solar electric and hot water systems
• CSCS supervisor card

• Able to work a range of hours with occasional overnight stays
