Description

The supporter services position supports all aspects of the Fundraising Department’s inbound and outbound marketing membership programs and information management operations and systems.

In his/her role, s/he works with the Fundraising Manager to develop and manage all aspects of the inbound and outbound marketing projects including but not limited to, special appeals, renewal programs, retention programs, newsletter printing and distribution, reporting and supporter communications.

Responsibilities

Supporter Services

  • This position is responsible for answering all supporter related inquiries, whether by phone, mail, fax or personal visit in a timely fashion. Serve as point of contact for escalated member issues. Work with the Fundraising Manager to assure timely, high quality responses to the donor information requests and membership related inquiries. Ensure Greenpeace campaigns are accurately represented to the supporters.
  • Responsible for the printing and distribution of the Greenpeace newsletter/magazine to existing supporters as determined by their donation.
  • Responsible for preparing the content of the monthly supporter e-newsletter.

Telemarketing

  • Assist the Fundraising Manager retain and upgrade members through various direct marketing techniques, including management of a small Telemarketing team for upgrade, reactivation and special appeal solicitations.
  • Regularly makes sure the supporter information are updated, either through existing telemarketing programs or separate ones.
  • Perform needed telemarketing data entry into the supporter’s database.

Reporting

  • Assist the Fundraising Manager if necessary in providing detailed and accurate statistical and analytical reports on a weekly/monthly/annual basis of telemarketing and supporter services fundraising programs in the Beirut office.

Other

  • Stock control of membership print material or merchandise.
  • Undertake travel both domestically and internationally as required.
  • Cooperate and work in regional projects on supporter services Greenpeace issues.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Fundraising Manager for Lebanon and the Fundraiser Director for the Mediterranean office.

Fundraising

  • As a member of the Fundraising Team, maintain a high commitment to Greenpeace values and meeting campaign goals.
  • As a member of the Fundraising Team, contribute to the development and effectiveness of GP Mediterranean’s Fundraising Department and GP Mediterranean as a whole. This includes: developing and implementing department strategies, policies and plans; addressing issues; and supporting and communicating decisions taken by the Director of Fundraising, other Directors, the Executive Director and the Board.
  • Maintain productive and effective working relationship with other Fundraising Team members, and keep informed of current best practices in other Greenpeace Fundraising departments
  • Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Fundraising.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Two years equivalent experience or experience in customer relations, membership marketing, public relations or communication fields
  • Ability to monitor and communicate technical information, to train staff and to manage assigned tasks from inception to completion.
  • Experience with telemarketing teams a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and thrive in atmosphere of high departmental expectations.
  • Knowledge of MS word/excel/access. Knowledge of databse and filing systems is a plus. Accurate typing skills needed.
  • Positive and flexible nature
  • Knowledge of the Mediterranean Region and respect for other cultures.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the environment and Greenpeace.
  • Ready to work in flexible work hours and weekend cover when necessary.

Language. English and excellent written and spoken Arabic
