Supply Chain Development Manager: Job Description

Who are we?

RetrofitWorks is on a mission to improve the energy efficiency of housing stock across the UK. Aims are to reduce energy bills, make homes warmer and safer, and drive towards Carbon Net Zero.

At the forefront of the industry, we are a not-for-profit Co-operative of retrofit professionals and installers. We bring together local authorities, community groups and others to promote and deliver retrofit.

In London, RetrofitWorks partners with Parity Projects Ltd to provide a service called Ecofurb, which helps homeowners through their retrofit journey by providing impartial advice and links to contractors.

Role within RetrofitWorks

RetrofitWorks, Parity Projects and Haringey Council have recently partnered to secure funding to address barriers to retrofit in the London borough of Haringey. Going live 1st July 2023, this exciting 2-year project will innovate, design and deliver initiatives designed to stimulate the ‘able to pay’ market (the market of homeowners who can’t access grants).

This role is within the Ecofurb team, focused on the Haringey area, reporting to the National Operations Manager.

  • Mentoring businesses to achieve TrustMark+, and to work on council contracts (supporting them to fill gaps they may have relating to e.g. CDM, RAMS, insurances, quoting, etc)

Innovation and development:

  • Research and develop RetrofitWorks new approach to supporting SME growth, working with colleagues across the organisation and project partners
  • Work with external partners to develop links to initiatives such as apprenticeships, and schemes that will be developed under the 2-year project
  •  Pull together knowledge from the RetrofitWorks team and contractor members, and work with designers to create sales materials

Project administration:

  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports for internal monitoring and to the project steering group as required

Attributes and skills

  • Self-motivation, initiative and creativity
  • Lateral thinking and ability to see connections and create solutions
  • Superb interpersonal skills, particularly in person, including the ability to quickly build rapport
  • Ability to be clear, articulate and persuasive

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
