POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will be part of the Policy, Government, and Public Affairs (PGPA) organization and provide support on sustainability, climate policy and advocacy matters impacting Cheniere Energy, Inc. (Cheniere). This position will be located in Houston, TX and will report to the Senior Director, Climate & Sustainability.
The position will conduct and/or lead legislative, regulatory, and technical analysis of climate policies and programs in the US and other key countries. In addition, this position will lead the policy and regulatory analysis to support new low-carbon venture projects. Further, this position may conduct specific analytical modeling in relation to the role of natural gas and LNG under carbon-constraints.
This is a non-DOT position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Working supervisor leading and supporting the development of analytical models and other tools, including Cheniere’s LCA Model (CLAM) to assess energy and environmental impacts from Cheniere’s LNG supply chain.
- Lead by example by writing technical and scientific reports and supporting Cheniere’s QMRV and CE Tags, including continuous improvements.
- Support future collaborations with Cheniere’s suppliers, and academia to improve the timeliness and quality of GHG data.
- Lead corporate research and analysis of US and international climate and energy transition policies, including the macro-energy impacts due to climate and renewable energy legislation, regulations, and policies.
- Recommend program and staffing budgets and manage budgets efficiently.
- Mentor, train, and supervise direct reports on climate science and policy projects and programs, including ensuring “team first” approach for project execution.
- Experience working with and advising senior management, and internal teams on climate science and policy.
- Support other members of the climate and sustainability department, and other internal stakeholders in development of Cheniere’s independent assessments on risks and opportunities from climate and energy transition programs and policies as it relates to US and Cheniere’s markets, including new low-carbon ventures.
- Support venture and climate technology and integration programs at Cheniere
- Develop analytical briefs and periodic reports for senior management.
- Collaborate directly with internal stakeholders to promote the development and execution of Cheniere’s climate policy strategies.
- Credibly engage and represent Cheniere on climate and energy transition policies with regulators, academics, non-governmental organizations, industry forums and networks.
