Description

We are currently looking for one student assistant (60h/month) to support our Stakeholder Engagement Team in the ISIpedia project which has been running since September 2017. The project aims at co-developing climate-impact indicators with stakeholders (including non-scientists) and integrating their needs into the upcoming simulation protocol of the Inter-Sectoral Impact Model Intercomparison project (ISIMIP) and the design of the ISIpedia online portal, which will present relevant climate-impact information and data from ISIMIP simulations (and other reputable climate-impact research). The student assistant(s) support the Stakeholder Engagement Team in the organisation of national and international workshops (three planned between 2019-2020), conducting background research on climate-impact data provision, updating contact databases and other administrative support. One workshop will be organised in West Africa, and the successful candidate is expected to play an important role in coordinating with our French-speaking contacts in the region. The position provides first-hand insights into the science-policy interface and state-of-the-art climate-impact modelling. It is based in Berlin, Germany.

Your profile

Successful applicants will ideally have the following qualifications and skills:

• Excellent English writing and verbal skills are a requirement
• native French speaker
• basic German skills are welcome, but not required
• Strong communication and intercultural skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Interest in applied climate-impact research
