To strengthen our team in Berlin (with the option of location-independent mobile work), we are looking for a student assistant in the field of agriculture, environmental and climate policy in the EU starting at the next possible date.

As a student assistant in the field of agriculture, environmental and climate policy in the EU you will support our team in researching content, writing reports and carrying out communication tasks within national and international projects with a special focus on agriculture, environment, climate mitigation and climate adaptation.

Your tasks:

  • You will support our team with literature research and analytical work in the fields of agriculture, soil, environment, climate protection, climate adaptation and policy (with a focus on pesticide reduction and carbon storage).
  • You will assist us in writing and formatting reports and will be responsible for the management of our bibliographic database.
  • You will actively participate in preparing, conducting and evaluating interviews, workshops and project meetings.

Our expectations:

  • You are an enrolled student with at least one year of remaining study time in a relevant Master's program such as agricultural economics, agricultural sciences, agricultural sociology, geoecology, geography, landscape planning, environmental management.
  • You have a keen interest in inter- and transdisciplinary scientific work as well as in all aspects of agriculture, environment and climate.
  • You have a sound understanding of the environmental impact of agriculture, you have, ideally, already gained some initial experience and knowledge of agricultural policy, and you are able to impress us with your enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • You impress us with your excellent knowledge of both English and German in the areas of orthography, punctuation, grammar and expression.
  • You are reliable and contribute a high degree of initiative and creativity in addition to a distinctive organizational talent.

Our offer:

  • We offer you a student employment contract with a remuneration of 12,25 € per hour and a work volume of 16 to 20 hours per week (negotiable). The contract of employment will initially be limited to the period of one year.
  • In our international team you will experience a pleasant working atmosphere in a flexible and family-friendly working environment with flat hierarchies.
  • Mobile working (independent of location) is possible due to the Covid19 pandemic. Office days at the Institute are subject to prior consultation with the team and depending on the Corona situation report (Berlin Senate).
