11-ACA-1304: Student - Ecology Representative (Ecorep)
The Sustainability Coordinator seeks several students to serve as Ecoreps for the 2011-2012 Academic Year.

The Ecoreps work with the campus Sustainability Coordinator on projects to promote sustainable behavior among their peers on the Saint Joseph's College campus. The specific projects vary from year to year, but will support the overall goals of the Ecoreps which include:
• Improving energy conservation behavior among peers
• Improving recycling participation and encourage waste minimization
• Increasing Climate Change awareness on Campus
• Increasing water conservation and awareness as well as encourage "taking back the tap!"
• Encouraging purchasing of environmentally preferable products
• Building a connection between students and our beautiful outdoor environment
• Developing a campus culture of stewardship
Ecoreps are responsible for collecting the recycling from the residence halls and encouraging participation. Ecoreps are paid for a couple of hours of work each week, but ideally will act as role models for sustainable living among their peers.

• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Must be extremely organized
• Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills

Number of hours per week per employee anticipated: 2+

Number of employees required in the department for this job: 15+

Time requirements, if any (e.g., MWF, 2-4 PM)? Scheduled with supervisor

Employees will require additional OSHA training? No

Special Considerations: Students must be committed to making SJC more sustainable
