Make a massive impact with microgeneration
Climate change is now widely accepted, as the largest long-term
environmental problem facing humanity - and its major cause is carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. A not-for-profit organisation formed in 1992, we've rapidly become a leading figure in the fight to address climate change. Promoting sustainable energy, we advise the public on a wide range of energy efficiency, micro-generation and transport issues.
We've recently started piloting a waste advice service - and in the near future, we're also planning to offer a water advice service.
Strategy Manager - Renewable Energy
Up to £42k pa pro-rata (maternity cover until the end of Sept 2009)
In this highly strategic role, you'll help put microgeneration products where they need to be - in the hearts, minds and houses of consumers across the UK. You won't, however, be dealing with consumers themselves but will be working closely with key stakeholders to drive the development of mechanisms that will
allow this to happen. Based upon robust evidence, this will involve developing and informing public policy to make microgeneration products more accessible whilst securing new renewables business activity.
Credibility is crucial, so you'll need to have a broad, technical knowledge of microgeneration and current products. An analytical, persuasive and strategic approach is important too, as is the ability to operate and influence at the highest levels. You must also be a proven leader with knowledge of renewable energy markets and experience in new business development.
This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave initially until the end of September 2009, with the possibility of contract extension thereafter.
