 One year fixed-term contract receiving a local salary

 

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is a charity committed to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. 

ZSL are looking to recruit a Strategic Partnerships Officer to work on a one year fixed-term contract on ZSL’s Sundarbans Tiger Project in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The successful candidate will be working in a small but dynamic Fundraising team to build a strong public image for ZSL’s Sundarbans Tiger Project (STP) through print, broadcast and online media.

 

We are looking for an excellent communicator with a passion for nature and the ability to think outside the box. We believe people are the solution to conservation dilemmas and we want to employ individuals who are eager to contribute to a cutting edge conservation team. Substantial prior experience is not a pre-requisite and this position would be suitable for those early in their career or changing careers, but the candidate must be able to demonstrate their raw talent in communications.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and evaluate outcomes.
  • Develop, oversee and contribute to STP’s presence and outreach through social media channels.
  • Assist with the management of website content and Constituent Relationship Management system (CRM).
  • Assist with brand awareness and consistency through training and review of materials.
  • Gather content, write and edit text for the website, e-newsletters, blogs, and other publications targeted at a wide and diverse range of audiences.
  • Be the first point of contact for the general public and challenge event participants.
  • Identify and develop new and interesting opportunities for raising funds and STPs profile.
  • Gather and organize content and production of photos and video to support communications.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Dynamic communicator with excellent editing and writing skills in English.
  • Able to cope with changing priorities and tasks.
  • Happy working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and think ahead.
  • Sensitive to working with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and the ability to learn quickly how to use new software and digital tools.
  • Flexile while being able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Outgoing and passionate about nature.

 

Desirable

  • Experience working in NGOs or in similar roles
  • Knowledge and experience of conservation and social marketing theory
  • Experience in website management or using Drupal CMS
  • Experience with CiviCRM or other CRM systems.
  • Graphic design software skills
  • Proven organisational skills
