|
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Strategic Advisor will be responsible providing technical advice and support to the Team Leader and senior management team and will:
- Support team leader and senior management team in developing and overseeing implementation of the knowledge management and fund management strategy for BRACED
- Act as a senior member of the panel on the grant evaluation committee
- Advice on the development of the common results-based monitoring and evaluation framework based on the programme’s logical framework
- Advice on the development of a resilience assessment methodology to be utilised by grantees
- Support the programme to identify, develop and implement innovative activities aimed at strengthening knowledge management, behaviour change, and policy uptake in target countries in order to scale up climate resilience and adaptation activities
- Support the programme’s networking and institutional outreach, strategic planning, and senior level policy engagements
Requirements:
Qualifications and requirements include;
- Advanced degree in Climate Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience working on donor funded projects, ideally for DFID
- Minimum 10 years of experience working on climate change adaptation, resilience and disaster reduction in developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, experience in the Sahel an advantage
- Knowledge, and experience of influencing climate policy at local, national, regional and international levels
- Significant experience of networking and relationship management skills at senior leadership levels
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English (both written and oral) is essential; fluency in French would be an advantage
