Reporting to the Director of Leadership Giving, the Stewardship Officer will be an integral part of the fundraising team, focusing on the stewardship and donor recognition programs of Mass Audubon’s Leadership Friends program. S/he will provide support to the Director of Leadership Giving to implement special events, donor acknowledgment and stewardship activities and other efforts to retain, recruit, and upgrade Leadership Friends. 

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the critical donor stewardship component of the Leadership Friends Program. This includes planning and managing all aspects of special events (venue selection, catering arrangements, tracking attendees, invitations, and follow-up) and specialized stewardship programs such as birdings and nature walks.
  2. Drafts, edits, and produces donor acknowledgments for Honorariums and Memorial gifts to ensure the timely and personalized recognition of gifts.
  3. Produces quarterly Leadership Friends newsletters; both paper and electronic versions. Produces annual endowment reports for donors.
  4. Provides support for statewide events and special projects for the VP for Philanthropy and others as needed.
  5. Updates and enters donor data in Team Approach to help ensure data integrity and the accuracy of information for future donor interaction.
  6. Performs other related duties as requested.

Qualifications: Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and enthusiastic. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills required. Must have ability to relate well to staff, donors, and volunteers and handle confidential information with discretion. Proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize work independently a must. Experience using a variety of software products including Word, Excel, and InDesign. College degree required and two years of fundraising (or related experience) required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel throughout the state. Willingness to work occasional weekend and evening hours is necessary.
