CAT Charity Job DescriptionSTATUTORY FUNDRAISER, FUNDRAISING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (F&D)·32 hours per week (4 days equivalent). Flexible working required including some evenings and weekends.·£16,653 per annum plus 2% pension option pro rata·six month probationary period Responsible to: OverviewResponsible for:Line Management responsibilities for Fundraising and Development Support (statutory)Liases with: all other departmentStatus:Full member of CAT’s co-operative management system (FCM)Scope: As part of the Fundraising and Development team; to raise funds from statutory, lottery and individual supporter sources as well as develop awareness of and opportunities for The Centre for Alternative Technology and play an active role in CAT’s co-operative management structure.Interlinked Departmental RolesRoles and responsibilities within F&D are interlinked, please note that from time to time;·the roles are reviewed within the department and may be changed·it may be necessary to work outside your particular role as need dictates.Strategy and ManagementThe Statutory Fundraiser will be responsible for devising, developing and implementing strategies to increase funds and developmental opportunities for CAT by:i.researching and developing funds from Statutory sources;ii.researching and developing funds from the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme and the Aggregates Levy Scheme;iii.researching and developing raising funds from lottery sources;iv.sharing responsibility for raising funds from corporate sources;v.sharing responsibility for developing funds raised through legacies.vi.sharing responsibility for researching, developing and raising funds from CAT supporters and other individuals;vii.sharing responsibility for tax reclaim work;viii.line managing the F&D Support (statutory);ix.playing a full role in setting and achieving strategies and budgets, and keeping the Fundraising Coordinator informed of activities and opportunities;x.taking a lead role in office administration and office managementxi.Playing a full role in fundraising for CAT projects including being the lead fundraiser when called upon.xii.sharing responsibility for organizing F&D events;xiii.researching and entering competitions;
Other Operational Activities
Undertake relevant external and internal duties by:i.deputizing on website activities;ii.deputizing on individuals activities;iii.deputizing on work with trusts and foundations;iv.deputizing for payroll giving schemes;v.deputizing on affinity activities;vi.behaving appropriately as a CAT ‘ambassador’ whilst playing an active research and networking role in order to develop awareness of and opportunities for CAT;vii.protecting CAT, by screening offers of support, e.g. by compliance with Fundraising’s corporate support policy as well as other organisational policies and guidelines;viii.keeping up to date with charity law and new fundraising legislation and opportunities;ix.complying with Health and Safety requirements;x.managing consultants where appropriate;xi.working alongside other fundraisers to maintain and develop fundraising databases;xii.playing a full part in the administration of the department including handling money and adhering to all procedures.xiii.supporting CAT project managers/teams with grant claims.

i.Sharing responsibility for managing F&D’s budget.
Co-operative Management
i.Attending relevant organisational groups/meetings e.g. Permanent Staff Meeting.ii.Following successful completion of six month probationary period, to participating in the wider organisational management structure e.g. participating in Recruitment Panels, periodic membership of the elected Management Group, Overview and various sub-committees. iii.Completingorganisational duties according to agreed rotas. e.g. periodically helping to clean the staff dining room.iv.Any other duties as requested by the elected Management Group, Overview.
