State Director – Goa State Office

WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications from candidates with an inherent sensitivity towards the conservation of nature and exceptional ability, resourcefulness and enthusiasm to head and manage the Goa State Office. This is a leadership role and the incumbent shall be responsible for interacting with WWF-India’s programme staff, Government, educational and scientific institutions, NGOs, the corporate world as well as the media.

Location: Panaji, Goa

The Job Profile:

  1. Heading and managing the Goa State Office and leading the team.
  2. Keep a focus on the key conservation issues and strategize the conceptualization, design and implementation of small conservation projects within Goa.
  3. Networking & Liaison with the State Environment Authorities.
  4. Develop a viable Environmental Education Programme for schools in the State
  5. Through specific actions increase participation & consciousness on environmental issues.
  6. Individual Fund raising: Support the organizational effort & initiate steps to grow our fund raising base in the State.
Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
  • Graduate/Post Graduate (any stream). Candidates from Environmental Studies /Social Development/ Conservation background shall be preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience of working in a managerial position including experience of leading a team in the areas of fund-raising, marketing, social outreach programmes, budgeting & funding and project proposal writing.
  • Knowledge of working in the development sector and awareness on issues related to conservation/ social development is essential.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven leadership skills, and the ability to act independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill (both verbal & written).
  • Good communications and presentation skills.
  • Task- oriented with an ability to get the work done within given timelines.
