Staff Geologist/ Environmental Scientist

Skelly and Loy, Inc. is a seeking qualified candidate for the position of Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist in our Harrisburg, Pennsylvania office. Duties will include: performing environmental field work (soil/water sampling, oversight of remedial subcontractors, and health and safety monitoring activities) and assisting in the preparation of technical reports (Phase I and II ESAs, quarterly regulatory reports, and PADEP Act 2 closure reports). This position will require a large amount of field work, with some occasional long hour work days. Some travel will be involved.

 EDUCATION

• B.S. in geology (Preferred) or related environmental science degree

• Soil/water sampling
• Oversight of remedial subcontractors
• Health and safety monitoring activities
• Assisting in the preparation of technical reports (Phase I and II ESAs, quarterly regulatory reports, and PADEP Act 2 closure reports)

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interface with both in-house personnel and clients

• Knowledge of PADEP Land Recycling Program (Act 2)
• OSHA 40-hour Hazwopper training
