Description

Role: Specialist Team Member

About our agency

If you’re part of the Environment Agency (EA), you’re part of the solution. Working with us means protecting and improving the environment for generations to come, tackling issues of national importance across a huge variety of disciplines. We’re based in over 14 areas across England, and our responsibilities span major industry regulation, flood defences, land contamination, water quality, fisheries and conservation. Such a broad scope of work calls for diverse, multi-skilled teams and exceptional leadership: together, we’ll promote sustainable growth, tackle climate change and secure a better future for everyone.

Your role with us

You’ll be at the heart of our efforts in responding to flooding and environmental incidents both day and night. With an emergency 24/7 rota in place, you’ll take part in the efforts our Field Operations Team take to protect the communities we serve across the country at all times.

As a Specialist Team Member, you’ll work closely with your Team Leader to plan, schedule and resource all relevant work to complete our busy maintenance programme. You’ll actively monitor the work we do to ensure its operational status is maintained to a high standard. As well as being responsible for all project paperwork you’ll work collaboratively across our sites to keep all operations compliant with legal requirements.

Who we’re looking for

With all the relevant qualifications and a full driving licence, we’re looking for a knowledgeable, organised and inclusive individual. Someone who can seamlessly come in an influence how we work. With strong experience managing health and safety on construction and maintenance sites, you’ll pair a firm understanding of Rick Assessment Method Statements with strong IT skills.

You’ll be taking on a busy, sometimes complex workload so you’ll need to possess composure when working to tight deadlines and/or in emergency situations.

Your benefits with us

We pride ourselves on a sense of community and support. That goes for our careers, too – whatever your goals, we’ll support you with exceptional coaching and mentoring while giving you opportunities to thrive. And, as a Civil Service employee, you’ll be able to take advantage of all kinds of benefits, including generous annual leave, flexible working, childcare and travel allowances, staff networks and clubs, onsite facilities and a Civil Service pension.
