The Hollywood office of The HSUS is dedicated to activating the power and creativity of the entertainment media in our quest for a more humane society. Through the annual Genesis Awards, Animal Content in Entertainment (ACE), and an assortment of awareness events we honor and encourage the inclusion of animal protection issues in news and entertainment media. The Hollywood office is seeking a part-time intern for the Spring 2011 semester. Projects will include supporting the planning of the annual Genesis Awards in Beverly Hills, in-kind donation solicitation, database management, social networking, celebrity research for PSA campaigns, and additional duties as may be assigned. Skills required: strong online research skills, ability to work independently, excellent written and verbal communication skills, works well in a fast paced environment (during events), internet savvy, and outgoing. Preferred applicants are pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, non-profit management, and/or a related field. Work hours may include some weekends during events.
