An exciting opportunity exists for a talented, committed and self-motivated person to join BirdLife Australia’s conservation team, working to protect the endangered South-eastern Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo.

The Project Officer position will be based in or near the bird’s range in south-west Victoria and south-east South Australia, working with the Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo Recovery Team and the Project Coordinator to deliver actions designed to halt the decline of this iconic cockatoo. 

We require a person with experience in biological data collection, interpretation and presentation. The successful person will also need to have excellent communication skills to assist the Project Coordinator share knowledge with a broad range of the community including community groups, NRM agency staff, school students and all levels of Government.

The position is available at two days per week, with an initial 12-month contract and ongoing employment subject to funding.
