South Bay Office Practice Group Leader - Mountain View

We are seeking a senior technical professional in the field of geotechnical engineering, water resources or construction management, to lead our Mountain View, CA office. We are particularly interested in candidates with superior leadership and proven businesses development skills, and an unwavering commitment to quality. This position reports to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Oversee all activities, productivity, growth, hiring and financial achievement of the Mtn. View office;
• Lead, supervise, motivate, train and mentor technical and support staff;
• Develop new business, particularly in the Silicon Valley;
• Expand Weiss’s environmental practice areas;
• Directly oversee and provide responsive, exceptionally high quality services to clients; and,
• Participate as a member of the corporate management team.

Key Requirements include:

• Expert-level experience and technical skills in geotechnical engineering, water resources or construction management, with a solid industry reputation for delivering high quality services to a diverse client base;
• Strong interpersonal skills in coaching, motivating and team building with all levels of people in the organization;
• Ability to make sound operational and strategic decisions, balancing customers’ needs and company objectives;
• Strong organization skills with the ability to handle a diverse workload; and,
• Ability to effectively lead a wide range of technical and support staff.

The successful candidate will develop and conduct work within his/her practice area(s) and hire staff as appropriate to build the practice and Mountain View Office. This is a Principal or Principal-track position with the potential for future company ownership

This position also requires a Master’s Degree, professional license, at least 10 years of demonstrated success conducting and managing projects, and developing business from existing and new clients. South Bay/Silicon Valley experience is highly desirable
