Sourcing Managers develop and implement spare parts strategies for assigned commodities to enable cost competitive operation of Iberdrola Renewables’ 4800 MW US wind turbine fleet. Commodities range from regular maintenance parts and supplies to capital equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead development of commodity strategies with cross functional stakeholders in support of operational requirements. Perform industry benchmarking; understand and articulate tradeoffs.
- Indentify, develop and manage supplier relationships. Negotiate and implement comprehensive contracts reflecting cost, delivery, and quality requirements. Tie key business objectives to contractual obligations and track performance to ensure compliance.
- Review and provide input for new supplier qualification and selection activities including ongoing supplier evaluation and quality systems audits.
- Develop testing and evaluation plans to approve and implement new sources of supply.
- Develop and implement product quality plans for key parts to define requirements around outgoing testing and inspection prior to shipment.
- Manage risk and improve leverage by implementing multiple sources of supply.
- Drive ongoing cost reduction and reliability improvements through alternate sourcing and resolution quality problems as they arise. Measure results; enforce warranties.
- Work with Engineering to develop and maintain technical specifications to ensure design consistency and long term, reliable performance across the wind turbine fleet.
- Ensure all relevant internal controls are followed and develop new controls as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred but not required in one of the following areas of study Business, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in electric or utility related field
- Fluent in reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings and specifications
- 5 years experience in a supplier management commercial environment qualifying suppliers, managing supplier relationships and quality, negotiating and administering contracts, etc, .
- Self starter with demonstrated performance leading initiatives in a matrixed organization.
- Excellent analytical, project management, presentation and communication skills; ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Strong understanding of ERP Systems and Project Workflows (Oracle, SAP)
