Description

My client is a leading provider of crystalline silicon solar PV (photovoltaïque/photovoltaic) modules to integrators and installers of renewable energy systems across France and the rest of Continental Europe. They have had a very good track record for providing top quality service at reasonable prices thus staying ahead of their competition. Business is going very well in France and as a direct result of this they are making a number of new hires in the solar PV team in France.

 

They are now looking to hire a Solar PV modules salesperson to be based in Paris, and they are looking to conduct all first round interviews as soon as possible with a view to hiring someone and bringing them on board at the beginning of December 2010.

Responsibilities:

  • ·         This is no “ordinary sales role”. In addition to selling to existing clients, you will be expected to aggressively pursue new sales channels and clients; to travel frequently and pitch for big contracts and to be a brand ambassador nation-wide for the company.
  • ·         You will be expected to review and produce sales forecasts on a regular basis.
  • ·         Hit quarterly and annual sales targets which are related to your commission structure.
  • ·         Supervise and advise junior members of the sales team.
  • ·         Liaise with procurement managers from your clients on orders they have placed with you.
  • ·         Negotiate and close contracts.
  • ·         Ensure the timely delivery of orders and maintain a high level of customer service throughout in order to encourage repeat business.

 

Travel:

  • ·         You will be expected to travel a significant amount of the time (at least 50%) around France in order to visit clients.
  • ·         Travel further afield to visit client headquarters when necessary, inside and outside of Europe.
  • ·         Live and work in Paris as a base.

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • ·         MBA or Bachelors in Business Administration or Marketing.
  • ·         Candidates must have experience in the European photovoltaic market and an in-depth understanding of issues such as:
    • o   Feed-in Tariffs (FIT)
    • o   Supply chain
    • o   Government regulations; any recent laws passed in France or the EU which could affect the French solar PV market
  • ·         The successful candidate must have a proven track record in sales, with the ability to show solid sales figures and significant experience in gaining and retaining new and existing clients.

 

Languages:

  • ·         It is essential for the successful candidate to speak and write completely fluent French and English.
  • ·         The candidate must be able to sell solar modules using the French language. In practice, this means the candidate will have full knowledge of the French vocabulary relating to the renewable energy sector and the solar photovoltaic sector.

 

Other important skills:

  • ·         Excellent teamwork skills.
  • ·         Management experience.
  • ·         Willing to work long hours when necessary.
  • ·         Full, clean driving license.
