Description

My client is a global manufacturer and developer of high efficiency photovoltaic (PV) cells using crystalline silicon. They are currently looking for a solar PV research and development engineer to work out of their office in Atlanta. They are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to be involved in the development and advancement of their technology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Use progressive manufacturing photovoltaic processes to advance the efficiency of products
  • Apply scientific knowledge to innovate and apply advanced concepts such as surface passivation by heterojunctions
  • Draw reliable conclusions from project data.
  • Work as part of an internal team and at times collaborate with external solar organisations.
  • Design and optimise solar cell structures using PC1D
  • Deal directly with hydrofluoric acid and phosphorus oxychloride
  • Would be reporting to the Vice President of research and development (r&d) regularly
  • Execute standard fabrication processes such as wafer cleaning and texturing

 

Requirements:

  • A successful candidate will be educated to MSc or PhD level in materials science, chemical engineering or physics.
  • Must have extensive knowledge in handling hazardous gasses such as ammonia and silane
  • Have extensive experience using software such as PC1D
  • Will have an understanding of the physics of operation of photovoltaic silicon solar cells and a working knowledge of the technology used to produce them
  • Be willing to work out of Atlanta
  • Be relied upon to  work as part of a team and take the lead when necessary
