Solar PV Technical Services Manager, Japan

My client is a global provider of solar PV (photovoltaic) solutions globally. They are experiencing successful growth in their company globally and are looking to add to their team in Japan, currently they are looking for a PV technical services manager to look after projects in Japan.

Position Overview:

My client is searching for an experienced PV technical services manager who has a proven track record in the implementation of PV systems. As the technical services manager, you would be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of PV systems and providing on site technical support to clients. In addition to this, you will be responsible for negotiations with suppliers and for helping with the optimisation of PV module manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

• ·         Liaise with Sales and Product development team to ensure that you have a comprehensive knowledge of the day to day activities
• ·         Will be actively involved in the integration of solar PV systems and its components such as inverters, connector boxes and also be involved in the grid connection of the system
• ·         Be the ‘go to’ person for queries on product engineering for both the sales team and clients
• ·         Collaborate with the R&D (research and development) and product development teams to assess process optimization methods for module production
• ·         Negotiate with suppliers for PV system components
• ·         Work on all aspects of product improvement i.e. best components, best mounting structures etc
• ·         Advise Procurement and Quality teams with supplier selection
• ·         Be an active member in the development of new products

Education:

Must educated to BSc level Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field

Core Requirements:

• ·         2-5 years experience in the solar industry
• ·         Must have an understanding of power generation
• ·         Minimum 3 years experience working in manufacturing and product design
• ·         Must be eligible to work in Japan without restriction
• ·         Must speak fluent English
• ·         Will be an innovative and competent individual

General Requirements:

• ·         Will be based in Japan
• ·         Will display leadership attributes and have experience in collaborating with international teams
• ·         Proven track record in putting strategic changes into place
• ·         Able to communicate efficiently with all levels both internally and externally
