Description: POSTION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the EVP Engineering & Construction, the Project Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects and phases of operations and maintenance (O&M) services for multiple operating PV systems. The job requires management of service agreements with multiple owners and with downstream responsibility for managing subcontractors, vendors, OEMs, and other service providers so that emergency and scheduled services are performed to meet the job criteria. This position will coordinate with the project management team that designs and builds PV systems. The Project Service Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure that energy producing assets (projects) are managed to meet the following general criteria: uptime, performance, production goals, client satisfaction, maintenance scheduling, alarm and emergency response, and warranty management. This position has project cost management responsibility.
Duties: MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and provide leadership for project team consisting of subcontractors, project engineering, superintendents, technicians, vendors, and OEMs.
• Provide full management accountability for project service requirements, contract administration, scheduling, and performance for multiple simultaneous assets.
• Manage multiple client agreements to ensure client satisfaction.
• Responsible for all federal, state, local regulations and safety program compliance.
• Prepare budgets and schedules.
• Track and manage actual energy production vs. forecast, and evaluate/analyze data and take corrective action to meet objectives.
• Receive system alerts and alarms and manage response in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Manage work orders resulting from alerts and alarms.
• Manage and schedule O&M services. Visit sites on regular basis.
• Secure local service subcontractors. Lead team in vetting and referencing, scoping, negotiating, and contracting with subcontractors.
• Work with team to obtain all necessary permits, inspections, and authorizations for service contracts.
• Manage relationships with local utility or energy off-taker as necessary.
• Maintain documentation for each project. Develop Best Practices for implementation by surveying and evaluating other practices for this position in the solar energy industry.
• Participate in project commissioning with the project management team.
• Participate in meetings for the design of new projects so that the best practices for operations and maintenance (O&M) are considered in the design and construction process.
• Provide support to the Business Development team when needed.
• With the engineering team, evaluate and propose technical design and components specification for PV systems.
• Oversee preparation of project close-out documentation such as manuals, drawings, reports, and other documentation.
• Clearly report to EVP on a regular basis about activities.
• Enlist support from other sections of the company when necessary.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Advanced understanding of service management, SCADA/Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) contracts, design, specifications, and construction methods.
• Detailed design and construction experience with management and contracting for geotechnical, structural, earthwork, and electrical systems.
• Remain informed on industry trends and initiatives.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

• Project managers, project engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS:

• Job site – Required to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Office – Required to sit, use a keyboard, mouse, monitor and phone for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 25 to 50% of time)
Qualifications: REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS:

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BA/BS degree in engineering, construction management, or related STEM discipline required.
• Five or more years progressive experience in construction or service management, including as a project engineer, project manager, superintendent, or service manager.
• Experience with commercial photovoltaic systems larger than1 MW preferred.
• Technical electrical control systems knowledge, preferred.
