Job Information

This position is currently available in southern New York (Orange/Rockland/Putnam/Westchester) and in the Mid-Hudson Valley (Ulster/Dutchess).The Solar Power Consultant generates sales proposals and presentations to a wide array of customers. S/he will manage sales activities to ensure a robust pipeline of prospective clients selling the unique benefits of our solar installation systems.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-home consultation to prospective customers, assisting in the generation of system design and site plans
  • Ability to take detailed measurements of proposed solar system sites
  • Responsible for post-installation follow-up to ensure satisfaction of customers
  • Proactive networker, responsible for generating business
  • Manage and develop a pipeline of contacts and opportunities within an assigned territory
  • Strong technical acumen, including technical and economic aspects of solar and other high-tech products and services
  • Drive revenue to achieve goals. Highly confident and goal oriented. Self–starting with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently
  • Create professional sales proposals
  • Other duties as necessary to ensure sales production quota is achieved
  • Thrive in quota-driven environment
  • Maintain necessary reporting metrics in Salesforce.com

 
Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum two years face-to-face solar or related sales experience
  • Must live in and be familiar with the area for which you are applying
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak to home and business owners about the benefits of solar
  • Professional appearance
  • Energetic, positive, enthusiastic, self-directing and a team player
  • Can work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends
  • Computer savvy
  • Excellent deal closer
  • Passion for green energy – specifically solar electric system sales
