The Solar Outreach Specialist is the first point of contact for many of Real Goods Solar’s residential customers, and is responsible for eliciting interest in solar and qualifying leads for the sale of residential PV systems. This person is an authority in qualifying aspects of solar purchase such as site characteristics, customer motivations, rate plans and utilities. The ideal candidate must have a high degree of maturity, be a team player, be able to handle a high volume of leads, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be willing to work evenings and weekends. The Solar Outreach Specialist is responsible for educating homeowners about the accessibility of solar energy and for embodying the goals and vision that define Real Goods Solar.
Key Responsibilities:
Educate potential customers about accessibility to solar energy and overcome common objections
Determine suitability of sites using proprietary tools and satellite technology
Exceed set targets and work in a fast-paced environment
Deal effectively with all inquiries and represent Real Goods Solar in a professional manner
Schedule consultations over the phone for our solar partners
Track daily activities in Salesforce.com
Essential Qualifications:
Have at least 1 year sales experience with a proven track record. Previous call center experience is preferred.
Be proficient with MS Office and Salesforce.com
Previous knowledge of solar power is preferred
Proven track record in working in a metrics target-driven environment
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent telephone and follow-up skills
High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Previous experience carrying a sales target
Self-motivated; ability to work under pressure and in an evolving work environment
Great team spirit
Commitment of 11 hours per weekend (10am – 4pm Saturday and 1pm -6pm Sunday)
