Our mission is to build the world’s most energized network of customers, who power their lives with sunshine. We all share this passion for solar as a critical component in addressing the environmental issues of our time.  We take enormous pride in our unique offering in the solar industry and our customer satisfaction scores so far.  Our values are to put the customer first with practical, simple, creative solar solutions that can take solar mainstream.

Our signature as a team is that we strive to be collaborative, unpretentious, and driven to achieve our mission.

Solar Consultant Position

Signing up for a solar system is big deal. For most people, this is a big decision that involves a long-term commitment—to a technology they barely understand, to a lease that’s more involved than buying a car, and to a relationship with an unfamiliar company.  What’s more, the client must embrace a solution that will alter the look of their home; and a construction project that will span 16-20 weeks.

Like most inside sales positions, we are looking for individuals who can quickly form rapport, surface and address someone’s interests and concerns, and close the deal without interacting face to face.  However, this position demands more.  While carrying an aggressive quota, our Sales Consultants provide the client with the kind of total experience that results in the client making an informed decision s/he feels good about—whether they sign up for our system or not. We are successful when we help people find the reasons they can go with solar, and then make it easy to do so.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and close perspective customers
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service relationships with prospects.
  • Update lead rating and prospect interaction in CRM.
  • Consistently achieve sales/lease quota.

Characteristics of Successful Candidates

  • Consultative – elicits clients’ interests and concerns.  Provides right information at the right time to meet the clients’ needs.  Solves for an informed choice, not a pressured sale.
  • Communication/Translation – listens carefully to understand what people think and feel; able to translate complex concepts into simple language.
  • Persuasive – can readily and effectively ask others to undertake a task.
  • Adaptable - Exhibits a “centered” attitude and is resourceful in the face of unexpected changes or problems
  • Sociable – while limited to phone and email, can easily strike up a conversation
  • Technically Adept – Can readily understand and be conversant with information and processes that relate to solar technologies, construction, permitting, leasing and more.
  • Web savvy – effectively uses web pages as props and tools to focus clients’ attention and/or to meet their needs for information.
  • Organized – manages use of time effectively.  Leverages the use of personal systems and software to optimize one’s own efficiency
  • Empathetic – Ability to empathize with a wide variety of customer types
  • Coachable – Desire to improve skills/process and responds positively to coaching
  • Performs under pressure – Responds positively to high pressure situations
  • Customer Service Orientation – Puts the immediate need of the customer before other priorities
  • Team oriented – Must be able to work in a collaborative manner with other team members

Qualifications:

  • Inside sales and solution selling experience preferred
  • Product familiarity preferred -  background in solar, other clean technologies or construction would be a plus
  • Ability to calculate key financial metrics, including competitive pricing and be able to respond customers.
  • Knowledge or experience with energy efficiency, roofing or construction
