Social Media Manager (London, UK)IntroductionThe Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a global not for profit organisation, established in 1997 to address the problem of unsustainable fishing and to ensure healthy oceans for the future. Through our world-leading certification and eco-labelling programme, we are helping to create a more sustainable seafood market. We work with a diverse range of stakeholders – including consumers, retailers, food processors, the fishing industry and governments. Having experienced remarkable growth over the last fifteen years, our blue ecolabel is now one of the most well recognised and successful ecolabels in use over five continents. We now employ more than 130 staff across 15 offices around the world. Successful communications and marketing is vital to driving awareness and use of the MSC ecolabel. As a result, we’re expanding our global communications team to respond to growing demand. Information on the roleWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Social Media Manager to deliver global social media strategies aimed at building profile and support for the MSC and its mission. Reporting to the Head of Media, you will be responsible for developing and growing the MSC’s social media community, creating dynamic content which reflects the MSC’s core messages, measuring and evaluating the impact of social media communications and responding to communications issues via online channels. You must have an in-depth understanding of social media, along with experience of delivering digital communications as part of multi-channel communications initiatives. You will also be experienced in providing leadership and insight into new tools for digital engagement. This exciting and challenging role will give you the opportunity to work alongside colleagues based in MSC’s 15 offices around the world, including science, marketing, digital, media and brand specialists.
