Greenpeace’s Energydesk energy and climate change news site is looking for a new social media intern as part of its successful internship scheme paid at London Living Wage.

It’s a really exciting role where you will learn new skills whilst finding interesting and creative ways to promote stories from Energydesk and grow our following on Twitter, Facebook and email.

The role would suit someone from any background who enjoys finding creative and powerful ways to share stories on social media.

You don’t need to be a journalist, or a campaigner, but you do need to have a nose for what makes a story interesting, and how to change what you write to be relevant to different audiences and groups of people.

You think information is power and you care about getting things right. In the past you’ve used social media to help spread new information which you think could change how people see an issue.

You’re no expert, but you are not afraid of detail and you enjoy finding ways to make complex or numerical stories interesting.

How to Apply:

Just as we want to grow and diversify our audience we are keen to encourage candidates from a range of backgrounds and offer flexibility on which days/hours are worked. Therefore, if you wish to work full-time (37.5 hours per week), we will consider this, however, the role will be offered for 3 months.

We are also able to be flexible on interview dates should you be called.

For further information about the internships and how to apply, please download an applicant pack or alternatively email recruitment.uk@greenpeace.org to request one. Ref: A39/2015.

You can access the monitoring form by clicking here: Monitoring Form.

You can see information about Energydesk here: http://energydesk.greenpeace.org/

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the internship.

Greenpeace are unable to cover the costs of travel or relocation to London, or provide help with finding or funding accommodation.

As we receive a large response for available opportunities, we are unable to respond to those applicants who have not been shortlisted and we apologise for this in advance. If you do not hear from us within a week of the closing date, please assume that you have not been shortlisted.
