Description

Marine Megafauna Foundation

The Marine Megafauna Foundation (MMF) was formed to research, protect and conserve large populations of marine megafauna in developing nations across the world.

Our primary objective is to develop enduring conservation solutions from pioneering research. In addition to championing their protection globally, our teams focus on safeguarding specific populations of these threatened giants. Working closely with both government and local communities we strive to promote local conservation action to enact effective protection based on sound ecological information and encourage sustainable eco-tourism industries for the benefit of local communities. MMF prioritizes grassroot education initiatives to inspire local communities and create a new generation of ocean guardians in the countries that we work.

“By focusing our efforts on the protection of threatened marine megafauna and their critical habitats we can simultaneously protect the associated biodiversity within their range.” Dr Andrea Marshall, Co-founder, MMF.
