Site Management Officer

37 hours per week, Fixed Term Contract until 31st October 2013

Starting Salary £15,017 per annum

Location: Stirling

This post is to assist with the delivery of the National Nature Reserve (NNR) programme on Flanders Moss, Blawhorn Moss,Loch Lomondand Ben Lui NNR’s. The post involves working on practical habitat and estate management tasks as part of a small team, with a strong bias to working outdoors in all weathers, although office-based work is also involved. The post will run until 31 October 2013, so the focus will be on supporting our team’s efforts to deliver existing habitat and species management work and community engagement projects during a busy summer and early autumn. A positive, team-focused, friendly attitude combined with sound practical conservation, countryside management or forestry skills will make you a strong candidate for this role.

You must have a positive can-do and team focused attitude and be motivated by contributing to shared objectives forSNH’s NNR’s with an enthusiasm for natural history and nature conservation. Good interpersonal skills and a friendly approach to people with interests in NNR’s, including volunteers, local communities and landowners are a must, with sound practical conservation, countryside management, forestry or estate maintenance skills. You must also have the ability to plan and organise your own work efficiently and to adjust those plans flexibly to deliver team priorities when required, with good IT skills including MS word, Excel and email. Finally, you must have a full valid driving licence as you will be required to visit sites which are not on a public transport route.
