The Silver Creek Conservation Technician assists with data collection, monitoring, research, and project development on the 880 acre Silver Creek preserve and the associated 10,000 acres of conservation easements. The position will also assist with habitat restoration projects, fence removal, weed control including herbicide application, and other stewardship related activities in the general Preserve area. The majority of the technician’s time will be spent working in the field both in a team and alone, sometimes in extreme weather conditions. This is a 35 hour per week, 3 month position beginning late May or early June.. Must have valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
The conservation technician participates in preserve operations, maintenance, data collection, and analysis. This may include one or more of the following functions:
Biologic data collection and analysis
Removes exotic species and/or species monitoring
Maintains tools, equipment, buildings, and grounds
Participates in communications, public relations, and fundraising events
Assists with data analysis, summaries, and reports
