Description

Project Name: 00051312 Mainstreaming Conservation of Migratory Soaring Birds into Key Productive Sectors along the Rift Valley/Red Sea Flyway Project.

Under the auspices of the UNDP/GEF Migratory Soaring Birds project, BirdLife International seeks a consultant /firm with extensive experience in the field of Communication Strategy Development to undertake a consultancy to develop a communication strategy document for the Migratory Soaring Birds (MSBs) project and to build the communication capacity of the BirdLife partners. The TOR of this consultancy includes the preparation and facilitation of a communication building capacity workshop to be presented to the national components of the MSBs project and to BirdLife International partners.

Assignment

The consultancy is needed to design the regional communication strategy of the Migratory Soaring Birds project (MSB) and build the communication capacity of national project partners to provide them with the necessary skills and tools to design their national MSB communication strategy.

Qualifications

Consultant / firm (staff) applying for the services described herein should have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Advanced university degree in Communication, Environmental Communication or any other directly related fields to the core of this consultancy.
  • Proven extensive experience in Communication Strategy Development and Communication Capacity Building.
  • Proven extensive experience in working with Environmental sectors.
  • High level coordination skills.
  • Good organizational and planning skills and ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus).

The selected consultant/firm will be contracted by BirdLife International, in close coordination with UNDP-Jordan, and will be supervised and coordinated by the BirdLife RFF CEPA Officer in the Middle East with the close involvement of the Head of Communication at BirdLife International.
