The Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc. (NRDC), is a leading nonprofit environmental organization with a staff of more than 350, including scientists, technical experts, lawyers, and other specialists. Our San Francisco office is seeking a research and advocacy extern for our India Initiative. The position is focused on Indo-U.S. collaboration on climate and clean energy. The extern will build connections between NRDC and others working on India and clean energy, research, analyze, and strategize about a variety of issues, and draft blogs, fact sheets, and position papers. The externship provides an opportunity to engage substantively at a high level with critical issues related to climate change and clean energy.
Requirements:
Law students, engineering students, graduate students focusing on environmental and/or energy policy, and South Asia specialists will be considered. This will be an unpaid position starting in August and will go through December 2010. Applicants must be willing to devote a minimum of 18 hours per week to the externship. Academic credit can be arranged.
