Description

An exciting new opportunity is available within the Severn Estuary Partnership (SEP) in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences, Cardiff University. Applications are invited for a Projects Officer who will play a key role in contributing to the development and successful delivery of a variety of projects ongoing within the Partnership, including the exciting Discover the Severn project. The SEP Projects Officer will be an enthusiastic, positive and self-motivated person who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders. Within the Discover Severn project, they will help to develop and use novel methodology to help connect or re-connect communities along the South Wales coast with the Severn Estuary, and to raise awareness of the benefits the estuary has to offer in improving health and well-being. 

They will also support the team with the production of SEP communications, such as website updates, the monthly SEP e-newsletter and social media. The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in environmental management/geography (or equivalent qualifications) and appropriate experience in a related field; a wide understanding of stakeholder engagement techniques; excellent organisational and communication skills; good Information Technology (IT) skills; experience of using social media to engage with the public; and a flexible and enthusiastic approach. A full driving licence with use of a vehicle is desirable.

This position is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term for 12 months and available immediately.
