Description

Are you passionate about working with people to make a positive difference for the future of our coastal environment? An exciting new opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Severn Estuary Partnership Communication and Engagement Officer to join the Severn Estuary Partnership (SEP) team. SEP is a vibrant Coastal Partnership based in Cardiff (hosted by the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences) that works with all those involved in the management of the Severn Estuary from planners to port authorities, fishermen to farmers and importantly, local communities.

Applications are invited for a SEP Communication and Engagement Officer who will play a key role in contributing to the successful delivery of a variety of projects underway within the Partnership, particularly the exciting Litter Free Coast & Sea Somerset project. The Officer will be an enthusiastic, positive and self-motivated person who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders. Within the Litter Free Coast & Sea Somerset project, they will work with local communities along the coast to deliver local engagement campaigns related to beach quality, bathing water quality and coastal (litter) pollution issues. There will also be opportunities to get involved in other projects and will support SEP’s wider networking and engagement activities.  The post holder will support the Partnership Manager in the production of SEP communications, including website updates, the monthly SEP e-newsletter and further development of our social media channels.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working on community and stakeholder engagement projects as well as excellent organisational and communication skills.

This position is full time (35 hours per week), available immediately and is fixed term for 12 months.
