Mott MacDonald requires a Principal Ecologist (Protected Species) to bring their considerable experience and qualifications to act as Technical Team Leader for protected species within the Ecology Group. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Technical Team Leader (Principal Ecologist) will drive forward our services to existing and future clients, with a specific focus on work within the water and power industries. Work will include co-ordination of ecological projects, Environmental impact assessment (EIA), application for NE protected species disturbance and development licenses, project, finance, line management and business development. This is an exciting opportunity for you to become a technical leader and grow our UK business.

The Principal Ecologist will have: technical leadership in protected species (holder of NE European species disturbance license in last 5 yrs), experience managing Natural England, Defra and Environment Agency projects. Additionally, significant experience in; UK ecological consultancy market (UK nature conservation legislation), EcIAs, EIA, projects, financial and people management. The Principal Ecologist will be a full member of IEEM (CEnv desirable).
