The Job

Our client is looking for an ambitious Senior/Principal Contaminated Land Specialist to join and provide environmental advice to the small team in Preston.

The ideal candidate will have B.SC./M.Sc. in a related environmental subject and chartered or currently working towards their chartership. A strong technical background in the investigation, remediation and validation of contaminated land, site specific risk assessments, CLEA and other risk models, groundwater contamination, P20 assessments, landfill gas rick assessments, remediation techniques and waste soil classification. An in depth knowledge of UK legislation for contaminated land is essential. Experience of managing people, demonstrating team leadership and mentoring less senior staff is highly desirable.

The successful candidate would lead the environmental side of the consultancy and provide the main environmental advice to the group.; The main responsibilities would be:

  • Providing environmental advice based on expertise on a wide range of projects.
  • Advising and liaising with clients; maintaining and winning new business.
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Planning, managing and delivering projects.
  • Reviewing, writing and sign off technical reports.
  • Keeping the group advised on changes in environmental legislation.
  • Liaison with Contaminated Land Officers and Environmental Agency.

  • A Full UK Driving licence is desirable.
