My client is a global developer and manufacturer of wind turbines, with an exceptional reputation within the industry and offices throughout the USA and Europe. They are looking for an experienced Senior Wind Turbine Design Engineer to join their manufacturing team based in Nevada, USA.

Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Wind Turbine Design Engineer to play a major part in the design, development and testing phases of prototype wind turbines for multiple markets and successfully driving them into the manufacturing process. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading developer and manufacture, with a view to becoming the leading utility scale wind turbine provider throughout the USA.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Take charge of the design phase of prototype wind turbines
• ·         Play a large role in the development and testing phases
• ·         Successfully drive the prototype wind turbines into the manufacturing process
• ·         Take ownership of all aspects of the wind turbines
• ·         Drive the integration of controls, loads, drive train, rotor, generator and structures
• ·         Work closely with the Wind Turbine Rotor System Engineers to develop the rotor structure including hub, pitch drives and bearings, main shaft and blade interfaces.   

Education:-

• ·         Must have a degree in a relevant Engineering field such as Mechanical, Civil or Electrical

Core Requirements:-

• 10+ years experience in mechanical and electrical systems design
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in wind turbine design and optimisation

• ·         Must be familiar with GL/DNV wind turbine design guidelines
• ·         Be able to understand the total design and development process of wind turbines
• ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization

General Requirements:-

• Ability to travel

• ·         Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
