Natural Power are a leading international renewable energy consultancy with 200 staff located throughout Europe and the Americas.  We provide expert services to the renewable energy industry in the development, construction and operational phases of renewable energy projects, principally on onshore and offshore wind, wave and tidal energy projects. The Team

The Green House has an established and respected team of wind analysts that report to the Technical Director.  This team has input into all stages of a wind farms life-cycle from wind farm development through to project finance and construction. We regularly form part of a multi-disciplinary team to carry out due diligence for project investment purposes, or for project acquisition.  We work closely with the other international Natural Power technical teams to provide services globally to a wide variety of clients such as: electricity utility companies, banks and financial institutions, independent power producers/owners and a range of industrial companies.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Wind Analyst from a technical or scientific discipline to join our Technical team based at our global HQ in Dalry, Castle Douglas, in beautiful south-west Scotland. As part of our successful and highly respected technical team, you will be responsible for providing technical consultancy services with sole responsibility for managing projects.

You will be responsible for managing and deliverying wind resource and siting analysis services to wind farm projects using industry-standard and in-house bespoke modeling techniques and tools. This includes technical feasibility studies, project design through to data handling, analysis and energy yield optimisation and prediction. You will maintain an awareness of latest research and development sin the fields to continue to apply best practice.

You will assist with providing technical advice to the wider NPC group and contribute to the identification and management of technical risks, issues and impacts of each project. 

You will be required to manage and mentor our assistant wind analysts and wind analysts, providing advice and support in their development. You will be responsible for approving their work within the NPC methodology ensuring the data is suitable for use.

Knowledge and skills

At a minimum you must be degree qualified in a technical, engineering or scientific area.  You will have experience in modeling and analyzing wind resource and site conditions for wind farm sites, with demonstrable understanding of site constraints. You will also be able to demonstrate a background in people management.

With strong analytical skills, you will have a pro-active and diligent approach to your work, possess good communication and project management skills and be highly computer and technology literate.
