Our client a leading engineering consultancy has an exciting opportunity for a senior waste consultant to join its Environment Division operations in the London / South East.

Waste Management Services Experience

The Job

This immediate requirement is for a Senior Waste consultant to join the established Environmental team of a top ten UK engineering consultancy.

As a Senior Waster consultant you will provide technical waste management services and environmental support on both UK and international waste management projects, including technical due diligence, feasibility studies, waste masterpiece services, waste collection, procurement and the development of business cases.

Your work will also include assisting in the development of waste contract documentation and waste procurement projects, in addition to business development activities.

Candidate Specification: Ideally applicants should have the following skills / background

  • Technical specialist with extensive experience in waste management
  • Strong technical and project management skills
  • Commercial understanding and ability to support and produce technical proposals

  • Detailed knowledge of waste processing services and waste treatment technologies, expected to include:

•Thermal treatment
•Anaerobic digestion
•Composting
•Collection options
•Mechanical treatment technologies

Ideally applicants should be degree qualified or equivalent in a suitable engineering / environmental discipline and be working as a Chartered engineer or waste management specialist. Previous experience with a local authority or waste management contractor would be of particular advantage. Knowledge and understanding of waste strategy and modelling would be very desirable.
