The Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC) (www.cmcc.it) is the non profit Italian research centre on climate science and policy. Its activities focus on the development and applications of models of climate dynamics, impacts of climate change and adaptation and mitigation policies.

The CMCC is taking into consideration the possibility to hire a talented, motivated and proactive technical senior manager to coordinate the technological realization of integrated marine navigation prototypes for the sea-conditions information.
This position is open under the sponsorship of the Italian project ‘development of TEchnologies for the Situational Sea Awareness’ (TESSA) (http://tessa.linksmt.it) awarded to CMCC by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. The TESSA project will develop a set of products and services for Situational Sea Awareness based on new operational oceanography environmental data integrated into advanced technological platforms for users in the maritime sector, tourism and environmental protection

The location is CMCC site in Bologna (Bo), Italy.

The primary purposes for this position is to coordinate the technical, IT, management and logistic activities that will be carried out to realize integrated marine navigation prototypes for the sea-conditions information.

The desired qualifications are:

• degree in physics, informatics or related disciplines;
• minimum 10 years experience in technological projects management (eg. software development, IT services for large infrastructures)
• knowledge of IT infrastructure and data management;
• knowledge in software development;
• knowledge of process and services design, analysis and management;
• a minimum of 10 years work experience as Project reporting/Management/Coordination;
• a very good knowledge of the English language;

The initial appointment is for a 12 months consultancy contract, starting from June 2014 at an annual compensation ranging from 45 to 54 K Euros, comprehensive of benefits and any taxation (eg. VAT) depending on qualification and experience.
