Senior Systems Engineer

Provide technical support for systems definition purchase, configuration, installation, tuning, maintenance, and upgrades of server hardware and software. Architect and design disaster recovery solutions to manage global IT infrastructure. Assist in developing utilities using modern programming language to facilitate the use and administration of networked computer systems. Provide account management,file system management,system security and data security using Active Directory. Design and implement backup and recovery hardware, software, practices and procedure. Account for development and technical support of strategic programs,planning,design and definition of networked computer system requirements for complex customer systems. Analyze existing networked computer systems and makes recommendations for improvement of infrastructure, technology, operational capability, reliability and performance including troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Monitor effective programs, processes, hardware, network, or sql/Exchange database utilization. Participate in the design, development, implementation, review and testing of operational processes and instructions, including disaster recovery systems. Design , prepare and conduct system and programming tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software to determine operating characteristics. Participate in the vendor activities including license management and coordination of maintenance contracts. Ensure Windows and Linux Systems are patched and securely maintained in accordance with best practices utilizing in-house and best-of-breed tools. May be assigned to various projects using skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Electronic Engineering or a related field followed by 8 years of progressive, professional experience in the job offered or a related position including Programmer Analyst and Consultant.

Experience and/or coursework must include: 1. VMware; 2. Server Clustering; 3. Linux/Unix; 4. Cross platform in system administration; 5. Mission control production support; 6. Windows design, implementation and troubleshooting; and 7. Server installation, configuration, clustering, logical partitioning, back-up and recovery methodology.
