SENIOR CONSULTANT CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Primary Job Function:
Working under the general direction of a Firm principal, the senior sustainability consultant will
be responsible for developing CR and sustainability solutions for the Firm’s clients as well as
managing day-to-day client activity. The senior consultant interfaces with the firm’s clients, team
members and vendors to develop and implement strategies and solutions on behalf of the client.
The senior consultant actively participates in growing existing client relationships, acquiring new
clients, as well as developing and implementing new sustainability services/products as
opportunities arise.


Responsibilities:
. Provide strategic consultation and support to the Firm and its clients in the formulation
and implementation of cohesive CR/Sustainability strategies
. Work with the Firm’s principals to identify sustainable development business growth
opportunities
. Advise clients in the setting and delivery of targets for CR/Sustainability performance;
support the monitoring and reporting of CR performance
. Provide technical and project advice on CR/Sustainability to clients and Firm colleagues
. Apply leading edge CR/Sustainability practices (including social, environmental, Climate
Change, supply chain, SRI, etc.) to client activities
. As the Firm’s “green expert”, identify and stay abreast of current drivers and trends,
including national legislation, international standards and best practices; ensure the Firm
develops and executes solutions ahead of expectations
. Work with Firm colleagues and clients to manage potential CR/Sustainability risks
within their supply chains or other aspects of their business
. Provide assistance, facilitation and mentoring to junior staff working in
CR/Sustainability, with the goal of expanding the capabilities and team size of
BrownFlynn’s CR/Sustainability consulting practice
. Actively participate in business development activities and provide support in the
development of proposals
. Apply technology to further the Firm’s goals.
. Communicate openly with all team members; provide progress reports to the Firm’s
senior leadership
. Prepare client service reports; review important developments with relevant team
members and principals

Requirements:
. Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering; Masters Degree in Business
or Science
. 10 years of consulting experience in a service or manufacturing business; global
CR/Sustainability and/or entrepreneurial experience a plus
. Expertise in three or more of the following areas: Supply Chain, Life Cycle Assessment,
Management Systems, Social Performance & Social Investment, Corporate Reporting,
Greenhouse Gas (GHG), Reputation Management and Corporate Assurance;
. Knowledge and application of international standards and guidelines (AA1000, SA8000,
ISO14001, G3 guidelines etc) and relevant professional qualifications are preferred
. Results oriented; proven ability to build, develop and implement a broad-ranging
CR/Sustainability program from the ground up
. Ability to effectively engage the C-Suite and affect positive change
. Collegial, open and grounded in integrity
. Superb written and oral communication skills
. Strategic, passionate and innovative creator and implementer of solutions with a “roll-up
your sleeves” approach
. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills around key strategic drivers of corporateclient
agendas
. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and team players simultaneously with a
penchant for service excellence and a collaborative style
. Ability to dynamically prioritize and adjust to change and/or business growth with a
customer-focused orientation


Note: The ideal candidate will have experience managing and implementing international CR/sustainability
programs at a strategic and operational level within a large, global corporation.


Classification: Full Time
Compensation: Negotiable, commensurate with experience
Relocation to Cleveland required
